The organizing committee is pleased to invite you to register your papers and contribute to the International Scientific Conference entitled Rethinking urbanism that will be held in May 2012 as a part of the Urbanists Season.
Urbanists Season is a several-month-long event encompassing scientific and expert conferences, large exhibitions and other activities that will cover the entire scope of urban planners' performances – from projects, visions and studies, through scientific and research activity, to realization of projects with a significant urban component. Our intention is to promote, to the maximum extent possible, interdisciplinary approach as well as uniqueness and inseparability of disciplines dealing with spatial planning, urban planning and architecture.
Primary objective of the International Scientific Conference is raising the question and research thinking about the future of urban planning.
The event is initiated by Croatian Architects’ Association and co-organized by Croatian Chamber of Architects and Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb.

CALL FOR PAPERS
International Scientific Conference entitled Rethinking urbanism will be held as a part of the Urbanists Season. Primary objective of the conference is raising questions and exploratory rethinking of the future of urban planning (ILI raising questions and research reflection on the future of urban planning).
Rethinking urbanism is a contribution to proposing activities for improving spatial conditions, especially revitalizing and reinforcing the position of urban planning in better use and shape of city space, preserving the continuity of spatial and material values, restoring social awareness, regulating conditions of urban planning etc.
Participants are invited to propose improvements in planning methods, management models as well as efficient specifications on how to select optimal conditions for using and protecting urban space. Directions of scientific thinking about the future of city planning include: anthropogenic and natural, public and private, global and transitional, old and new, creative and normative, etc.
International Scientific Conference is under program competence of the Scientific Committee, an independent body comprising the following members (in alphabetical order): Branka Aničić, Dafne Berc, Tihomir Jukić, Sonja Jurković, Zlatko Karač, Srečko Pegan and Ivana Šverko.
