PUSHAK/NO
PUSHAK AS was founded as a joint-stock company in 2008. Partners Camilla Langeland(b.1975), Sissil Morseth Gromholt(b.1974), Marthe Melbye(b.1973) and Gyda Drage Kleiva(b.1972) have worked together on architectural assignments since 2002. All partners are graduates from Oslo School of Architecture. The partners have experience from the practices Jarmund/Vigsnaes AS, Architect Carl-Viggo Hølmebakk, div.A. architects and Hille Melbye architects.
The portfolio of built work includes various residential projects, a winter cottage, area planning, road stop installations and a bridge. In 2008 the company won two open design competitions: a crematorium and a sustainable housing development of 200 units.
Other distinctions include listing in Wallpapers Architects Directory 2008(top 50 of young practices in the world), a prequalification for 3 bridges, 2d price in design- and urban development competition and 1st price in Ideas Competition for World Renewable Energy Conference 2000. The road stops Lillefjord and Snefjord are included in the travelling exhibition “Detour”, and are published in various international magazines of architecture and landscape architecture. Currently PUSHAK have public commissions for a kindergarten in Stavern and a planning assignment for an urban area in Sandefjord, as well as the crematorium with sitework starting august 2009.
PUSHAK is working consciously with established virtues of architecture like solving the functional demands of a programme, finding a good location on a site and forming buildings in a way that creates spaces that are pleasant to be in. We try to offer both open and more intimate spaces. Each site’s surroundings, movements, materials, colours, climate, light, and vistas are our main sources of inspiration.
